Written with my songwriting partner in L.A., the great late Paul Delph, and further arranged with my Serbian brother from another mother Dejan Illlich.
This grew out of our shared longing for diplomatic, relational means to gain peace, and our desire for more control over who can own a firearm as we face so many senseless murders in our respective countries.
If I could just get through to you
Our cousin Mike’s got a big gun
My sister Sue knows how to use one
Iggy’s in line for the third time
And everybody's wonderin’
When I’m gonna get mine
My friends are talking’ how it’s not right
Your neighbors don’t really want to fight
Only one way I know to start
Talk to me
Let’s have a heart to heart
Transmissions
Across satellites
At the speed of light
Changing everyone we reach
With our transmissions
Across continents
In our defense
All our best intentions
Transmissions
If I could just get through to you
Now listen
I hear in your town you’re told lies
They say I'm a threat to your kind
Well I just want to get inside a foreign mind
To see if it’s like mine
You know?

Changing everyone we reach
With our transmissions
Across continents
In our defense
All our best intentions
